Our Family Meeting Book
fun and easy ways to build
communications and share responsibility
Elaine Hightower & Betsy Riley
Busy family? Never a moment to
spare? Wish you had more time to talk to the kids? Do you feel at times
that everyone is rushing in different directions? Of course you do.
So maybe Our Family Meeting
Book has arrived not a moment too soon.
In this book you will find 52
simple, enjoyable agendas for weekly family meetings. I think that using
this book as a guideline could be fun and at the same time make for deeper
family communications. There is nothing ‘heavy’ about it - the book
looks attractive, and the meetings can be brief, but the more you use the
book, the more it becomes a written history of you family’s life
together and could turn into a treasured keepsake too.
The authors suggest that the
meetings are at the same time every week because it helps to make them a
habit, although if a crisis strikes an emergency meeting can be called!
It is important that everyone
participates - even the youngest child, and I like the idea that once the
family meetings are well established, let everyone, even the kids, take
turns at leading the meeting. I think the idea of a family meeting is an
excellent one - and this book should be welcomed with open arms by every
busy family.
