The Greatest Baby
& Toddler Tips in the World
Vicky Burford
Public Eye Publications £6.99 ISBN

Vicky Burford– who is a mother of
four – is at pains from the start to let the reader know this is not an
instruction manual. What it is, is a collection of tips which may or may
not help you with parenting dilemmas. As the author says in her
introduction, she has included pages of tips which, if she known earlier,
would have made her life so much easier.
Take from this what you need – I
applaud the safety check advice (get down on your tummy and see the world
from baby’s perspective) – and the idea of rotating toys is certainly one I
wish I had thought of when I had young children.
The best advice is to join a parent
and toddler group – a great way to make friends and for your toddler to meet
other children. There is nothing quite like an ‘all in the same boat’
support.
Some readers may take exception to
the section on controlled crying - but as it says on the label these are
tips and suggestions and for the reader to take from the book the ones which
help.
