Hello! I am Jill Curtis and welcome to familyonwards.com.

Let me tell you something about myself. I am a psychotherapist working in the UK, and I am also a daughter, a wife, a mother and a grandmother.

I have written five books: Where’s Daddy? (1996), co-authored with my daughter Virginia, which is a book about helping children after a divorce; Making and Breaking Families (1998), a more academic book but which is also of use to parents and their children; Find Your Way through Divorce (2001), a book for anyone who is considering separation; Does Your Child Have a Hidden Disability? (2002), a comprehensive guide for every parent who is concerned about whether their child may have a special need or not; and How to Get Married ... Again(2003), which is is the first comprehensive guide to be published on second weddings.

My great interest is family life and over the past three years I have written many articles on a variety of family issues. Have a look around familyonwards.com and I hope you will find the information and support you are seeking. Every day I receive e-mails from men, women and children who want to talk about difficulties in their lives and who are desperate for answers.

I am deeply concerned to hear from so many people who have to cope daily with enormous family pressures, like victims of domestic violence, those caring for chronically ill family members, those on the receiving end of prejudice, or those trying to cope with a family breaking apart. Others include grandparents parenting grandchildren, parents marrying for a second time and desperate to know how to include their children from a previous relationship. Perhaps you are a parent looking after a child with a disability, a mother or a father apart from your children, or a single parent struggling on your own to support a family. I have heard from very many people in these situations and it is nice to get feedback like this from a mother who said: ‘Thank you for such a welcoming and friendly site. I am new to the net and amazed at what I can accomplish in so little time with help like yours.’’

On this site you will find articles, book reviews, and links to other Internet sites which you will find supportive. If you don’t find what you are looking for, please let me know. I am always pleased to listen to what people want and extend the range of familyonwards.com.

Good luck!
